Job Description: 

The successful Candidates will be allowed to enroll in an external Unemployed (18.2 B1) Three-year Learnership program leading to the selected qualification as a qualified Artisan.

• Learnership Fitters x 4

• Learnership Rigger x 2 

• Learnership Electricians x 2

• Learnership Boilermakers x 3 

• Learnership Measurement Control & Instrumentation x 1 


Our Three-year Artisan Learnership Program is an enrichment program for the community and will enable you to develop skills with classroom and on-the-job/core training at Amandelbult Mine. 

This Program will enable you to maximize your potential along with a tailored plan to provide you with a future to make a difference. As you progress through your Artisan learnership program, we will help you discover your real capability and develop your skills as an Artisan.

Training Programs for Artisan Learners will consist of:

• 1st year: Institutional training at ESTC, Engineering Skills Training Centre.

• 2nd year: On-the-job/core training at Amandelbult Mine.

• 3rd year: Complete trade test 


Qualifications :

The following are the minimum entry requirements into the programme:

• Matric with Mathematics (not Mathematics Literacy), Physical Science, and English (all with a minimum 40% pass), or

• N2 or higher with all subjects as per the specific Discipline Requirements or

• NCV Level - 4 in appropriate trade with all subjects passed with a minimum 40% pass

Trade Test Requirements

• A minimum of N2 Subjects/ certificate with applicable subjects for the relevant trade as specified.

• Mathematics

• Engineering Science

• Relevant Trade Theory

• Industrial Electronics, Engineering Drawings, or Plating Structural Drawings 

• NCV Level - 4 in appropriate trade with all subjects passed with a minimum 40% pass

Learnership Conditions:

• Must be prepared to work underground and in ‘dusty areas’

• Work following to work schedule of the area and could involve working shifts

• Must be a South African Citizen

• Must pass the relevant psychometric assessment

• Must have a medical certificate of fitness or be able to obtain one

• Must have good written and verbal communication skills in English

• A valid South African Driver’s license will be advantageous
