 Mechanical Engineer in Training

 Requirements 
- Qualified Mechanical Engineer: BEng (Mechanical) 
- 60% average during academic tertiary studies (advantageous) 
- 0-1 Years experience 
- Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
 - Ability to think practically whilst complying with technical requirements (codes and client specifications) 
- Ability to multi-task, organize and prioritize work 
- Excellent communication and people skills (co-workers as well as clients) 
- Hardworking and committed
 - Enthusiastic about engineering and ready for a challenge 
- Secunda area based (working from PDPS offices in Secunda)

 The role 
The successful candidate will be joining the mechanical engineering department based in Secunda, typically starting in mid-year 2023. 

Our daily tasks can include anything from a site visit to scope a project or to take measurements, checking drawings, performing repair designs for equipment with failures, new designs for equipment, writing technical engineering requirements documentation, and project management through to assistance on-site during construction and project execution. 

 The scope of the equipment covered within the mechanical engineering department is almost unlimited as it varies from complex heat exchangers and pressure vessels, tanks, safety equipment and devices, special piping, pumps, chutes, and structures to special tools and trolleys.
